About Scott
I’m a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and an accredited Recovery Coach Professional. I offer in‑person therapy in Easterhouse, Glasgow, as well as online therapy and recovery coaching.
My aim is simple: to offer you a warm, non‑judgemental space where you feel heard and understood, and where we can work together at a pace that feels right for you.
My background and experience
Alongside my CBT training, I bring experience that shapes how I work with you:
Mental Health First Aider, supporting people in distress and helping them find the right help.
Recovery Coach, specialising in gambling harms. I combine professional training with lived experience, so I understand the shame, secrecy, and practical challenges that can come with gambling-related difficulties.
Work with young people in residential childcare, supporting those who have experienced trauma, instability, and complex emotional needs.
My CBT practice follows the ethical framework of COSCA (Counselling Society of Scotland), so you can expect a safe, confidential service alongside professional boundaries. In recovery coaching, I work in a similarly ethical, person‑centred way.
What I can help you with
I work with adults experiencing:
Difficulties with alcohol, drugs, or other addictive behaviours
Gambling harms
Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours (OCD)
Depression and low mood
Anxiety, including health anxiety and social anxiety
Trauma and PTSD
Low self‑esteem and self‑criticism
Panic attacks and panic disorder
Phobias
I also offer recovery coaching if you’d like practical, encouraging support focused on change, growth, and moving forward. This can suit you if you want something more goal‑focused than traditional therapy.
How I work
In CBT, I’ll work with you to understand the patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that might be keeping difficulties going. Together, we’ll look at realistic steps you can start using in everyday life.
You set the pace. You decide what feels important to focus on. My role is to offer structure, support, and evidence‑based tools, while making sure you feel safe and respected.
In recovery coaching, we’ll focus more on goals, action, and forward movement. We can look at habits, routines, values, and support systems to help you make practical, sustainable changes.
What you can expect
In our sessions, we’ll talk through what’s been happening and what you’d like help with. Together, we’ll agree a focus and work in a way that feels steady, respectful, and practical.
Depending on your needs, we might:
Explore unhelpful thought patterns
Understand triggers and early warning signs
Build coping strategies and try small behavioural experiments
Develop tools to support longer‑term change
The aim is for you to feel more in control, more confident, and better equipped to manage difficulties.
Sessions are 50 minutes. Online sessions are available via Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. In‑person sessions are based in Easterhouse, Glasgow. Most people start with weekly sessions, then move to fortnightly or monthly as things improve.
